Vintage Rare Martha Sleeper Bakelite Football Sports Series Overdyed Brooch

I have been asked to represent an impressive Bakelite collection for sale. This collection spans 30 years and includes many one-of-a-kind pieces as well as rare, flawless items that represent the bygone era of Bakelite Jewelry. Here is a vintage 1930s Martha Sleeper pin. It is from the “sports series” and called “football game day”. It is overdyed or resin washed. This item features a football boot as the main item and has a helmet, football and a wooden water bucket suspended on a chain. The wooden water bucket still has the original string holding it to the chain. It is in exceptional condition and even has most of the shoestrings on the boot still attached which is very rare. Deep carvings on all the items shows great detail and metal studs on the bottom of the boot. I’ve had several of these over the years but this one is in the best preserved condition of any in the collection. The boot is 1.75” x 2.3”.
